Pattern and Flow: Exhibition at the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden

This exhibition at the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden encompassed my Asian inspired work of the last decade.

Garden Patterns, on the left of the image (above), are a pair of hangings incorporating shibori and original block print.  Autumn Pool, right, features handpainting, stencilling, and katazome. Tao Te Ching 42 and I Ching 42

Works by Jean Kares: Tao Te Ching 42 and I Ching 42

(right) are a pair of raw silk panels, incorporating hand painted dye and potato dextrin resist. 

Below, Path includes screenprint and shibori with natural indigo dye, while Flow is hand painted dye and shibori with indigo. Woodland Meditation and Garden Meditation, below right, feature screen printed images with seeds sewn on the surface of the works.
